Chance to win Grand Prize: $2,025, additional rewards, and other amazing prizes! It's FREE to play with NO STRINGS attached. Here’s how it works: 

1: The contest runs from July 1 - 31, 2025, and you can enter at any time before or during the event.

2: Register and create a team name – you can play alone or with others. You must enter a team name in order to win prizes. In order to be entered into the Grand Prize drawing you must be 18 years of age or older.

3: Earn points in several ways:

EARN 3 POINTS by visiting each Participating Locations, listed on this page, at any time during the contest period. Find the Scavenger Hunt poster scan the QR code, follow the prompts and enter the information including the specific keyword that is on the poster. Each Participating Location is worth 3 points.

EARN 4 POINTS by visiting each Sponsor Locations, listed on this page, indicated by an asterisk " * ", at any time during the contest period. Find the Scavenger Hunt poster scan the QR code, follow the prompts and enter the information including the specific keyword that is on the poster. Each Sponsor Location is worth 4 points.

EARN 5 POINTS daily by visiting the Featured Location revealed each day.  Listen to Q92.1’s “Marino In The Morning” show at 8 AM for the clue to that day’s location. Clues will also be posted on social media with #HVScavengerHunt after the on-air reveal. Be the first to solve the clue and visit the Featured Location to win additional prizes! Each day features a new location across the Hudson Valley, totaling 31 locations, each offering a minimum $50 prize. Winners will be contacted to collect prizes from the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce office or at the Grand Prize Drawing Ceremony on August 2. Scan the QR code on the Scavenger Hunt poster, enter the specific keyword on that day, and follow prompts to enter. Each visit to a Featured Location earns 5 points. *Teams are allowed to visit a featured location after the location is featured. However, only on the day it is featured, will participants who visit the location earn the additional points, 5 points. You can still visit that location for 3 points, even if it is before or after the featured day. 

EARN 10 BONUS POINTS by visiting the four Bonus Locations, you will have the chance to earn up to 40 Bonus Points (10 points for each location) during the course of the contest. Follow our Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce Facebook and Instagram pages during contest duration and watch for the social media posts that will give you a clue to earn 10 bonus points.  Please note: Bonus points are more difficult to achieve, as the clues are harder to solve, and the location of the QR Code Poster will NOT be at a “Participating, Sponsor or Featured Location”.  Once the clue is released, solve the clue, find the Scavenger Hunt poster at the Bonus Location, scan the QR code, follow the prompts and enter the information including the specific keyword that is on the poster. Each Bonus Location is worth 10 points. 

4: At each location you visit, find the Scavenger Hunt poster displayed in a prominent position, scan the QR code using your smartphone’s camera app, and click on the link. Follow the prompts and enter your team name and the location’s specific keyword displayed on the poster. Go to the location during posted business hours for additional discounts, deals and chances to win extra prizes. Here is a sample of what the poster looks like: CLICK HERE.

5: Click SUBMIT and head off to your next location.

6: When you hit SUBMIT, we are tracking your points. You should keep track of your own points too so you can follow your own progress. We have made it easy to track your points with the Handy Tracking Form. The Handy Tracking sheet is for your personal point tracking only and you do not need to submit a copy to us. Once you get to 40 points you are automatically entered for a chance to win the third place prize, once you reach 50 points or more, you will be entered for a chance to win the second place prize, and those with the most points, will be in the running for the Grand Prize, for a chance to win $2,025, additional rewards, plus other great prizes along the way.

• Grand Prize: Team with the MOST Points – chance to win $2,025 in cash
• 2nd Place Prize: Accumulate 50 pts or higher and you will be entered for a chance to win $750 in cash and other prizes.
• 3rd Place Prize: Accumulate at least 40 pts and you will be entered for a chance to win a pack of tickets to the Hudson Valley Hot-Air Balloon Festival, August 29. 
• 92 Points: First participating team to reach 92 points during the contest period will be awarded a prize. 
• Best Selfie: Submit by hashtagging #HVScavengerHunt, or email the photo to alana@dcrcoc.org.
• Best Team Spirit: Dress up in costume and send us your results! Submit by hashtagging #HVScavengerHunt, or email the photo to alana@dcrcoc.org.
• Best Team Name: Determined by The Great Hudson Valley Scavenger Hunt Committee.
• Daily Prizes: There will be Daily Prizes and rewards given at the location, for those who visit the Featured locations on the day the clue is released. Each of these locations may also be running their own promotions and prize giveaways.
• All prizes will be announced following the conclusion of the contest. The Grand Prize winner and additional team prize winner(s) will be announced on Friday, August 1.

• You must physically visit, and arrive at the location for the "day of" featured location day's special keyword. The keyword just for their featured day is different from their other keyword for the remainder of the contest.
• If you visit a Featured location prior to its Featured day and earn 3 points, visiting a Featured location again on its designated Featured day will give you two additional points only.
• ​By participating in The Great Hudson Valley Scavenger Hunt you agree to abide by all of the following rules, guidance and responsibilities HERE.
• You may play with a large team or as an individual.  All teams must register the email address of each teammate.
