  • New Year, New Structure at Mid Hudson Construction Management

Mid Hudson Construction Management (MHCM), the leading construction management firm in the Hudson Valley, is beginning the new year with a series of senior-level promotions, marking a significant milestone in the company’s ongoing commitment to employee growth, enhanced client service, and strategic leadership. By investing in additional senior leadership positions, owners Ray and Scott Travis, CEO and COO, respectively, are positioning the company for success in years to come.

The firm is proud to introduce new additions to the senior leadership team, folding in James Madison, chief estimator, and the promotions of DJ Sadowski to director of operations and Justin Burger to general superintendent. This evolution exemplifies MHCM’s dedication to investing in its workforce, creating career development opportunities, and engaging at a higher level to meet and exceed client expectations. Together with other members of the senior leadership team, Katrina McKenna, office manager, and Shannon Baisley, chief financial officer, the team will drive innovation and streamline operations, ensuring MHCM remains at the forefront of the construction management industry in the Hudson Valley.

“Expanding our senior leadership team reflects our belief in nurturing talent and empowering our employees to take on greater challenges as we continue to grow,” said Scott Travis, vice president and COO of Mid Hudson Construction Management. “By prioritizing professional development and fostering collaborative environments, Mid Hudson Construction Management is better positioned to deliver exceptional results for our clients with this team leading the charge. Through this new structure we’ve unveiled, we can give clients a top-notch experience from product knowledge to engagement and from kickoff to closeout.”

James Madison joined MHCM in October 2024, as a 35-year veteran in the industry, previously serving as chief estimator and senior estimator with other firms in the Hudson Valley and Capitol Region, including Gilbane Building Company, Arris Contracting Company and more. Madison’s expertise and knowledge of construction techniques and practices like sitework, vertical construction, and interior and exterior renovations, to name a few, will bolster MHCM’s ability to best support clients at a high level.

Serving the MHCM team since 2021 and on successful community projects like the City of Beacon Fire Station, Hudson Valley Hospice, and more, DJ Sadowski’s promotion to director of operations is well-deserved. Previously serving as director of site operations, Sadowski has helped facilitate the creation of an in-house civil division and, over the past few years, it has grown to support a field staff of 15 and a fleet of 33, with Sadowski overseeing operations for MHCM as a whole. In his new role, he oversees project teams to ensure the successful completion of projects on time and within budget. Entering his thirtieth year in the construction industry, Sadowski maintains a high level of quality, safety, and professional communication with the field operations team, management, and clients.

Justin Burger, general superintendent, joined the MHCM team in 2023, with seven years of experience interacting directly with clients, subcontractors, and designers in the request for information process and leading day-to-day field operations. Today, showcasing their investment in the company, the Travis brothers have created the position specifically for Burger, ensuring proper support for clients, subcontractors, and other team members. Filling this role, Burger oversees all field operations and directly supervises project superintendents and field staff. His extensive leadership expertise allows him to provide ongoing management and guidance to all team members regarding schedule, safety, productivity, and quality control, setting up the MHCM team for success to complete projects on time, within budget, and exceeding client expectations.
