Honey Do Men Doing Good: Give a Little/Save a Life Free Community Fundraiser

Honey Do Men, a home remodeling and repair company located in Carmel (Putnam County) will be hosting a combination American Red Cross blood drive and fundraiser for Putnam Service Dogs, a local nonprofit that matches service dogs with people with disabilities. The event will take place on Tuesday, July 26 from 10:00-3:00 at Honey Do Men’s headquarters located at 1995 Route 6 in Carmel. Wandering Dave’s food truck will be on hand and is donating 15% of all sales to the cause.
 
The event will benefit the American Red Cross in its critical need for donated blood, and to help raise $1,200 for Putnam Service Dogs. The money raised will help cover the weekly group classes and private training sessions for ‘Echo’ and ‘Eddie’, two service dogs in training. ‘Echo’ and ‘Eddie’ will be onsite to meet and greet attendees. According to Sandy Lundy-Resnick, Honey Do Men’s Director of Community Outreach and Customer Experience, “This event will ultimately change lives. We hope that people come out to support these amazing organizations by giving a little to (literally) save lives.”
 
There will be a food truck and raffle prizes throughout the event.

Putnam Service Dogs provides free service dogs to people with physical disabilities other than blindness. Each dog is carefully selected from rescue groups across the country and is trained for at least two years before being placed. Most recipients need an average of six months of training to learn how to be an effective service dog handler and how to function as an effective service dog team. Each dog not only changes the life of their recipient, but of the recipient’s family and friends as well.
