Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew made history by announcing that Harriet Tubman will be featured on the $20 bill beginning in 2020. The new design will relegate Andrew Jackson—a former slave owner—to the back of the bill. The announcement also declared that five women pivotal to the suffrage movement—Lucretia Mott, Sojourner Truth, Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Alice Paul—to the back of the $10 bill. The back of the $5 bill will honor Marian Anderson's 1939 groundbreaking performance on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.
