Today I am writing my last column as Chairman of the Board. As some of you know, we sold our business several months ago. We have completed the transition and I will officially retire in August.
This is truly a bittersweet moment. While I am excited to enter our next chapter, I am also sad to leave the community and the Chamber. Seventeen years ago, I made the choice to join the Chamber and have never regretted that decision. Becoming involved helped build our business and introduced me to an amazing group of people that became customers, friends and colleagues.
As members, all of you have the opportunity to make your experience similar to mine. I sincerely hope you all do just that!
I’m leaving the job a little sooner than planned, but you are in good hands. My respect for our President and his team continues to grow daily. They are simply the best. Greg White will be taking over as Chair on September 1st and I am confident he will step into the role easily.
Wishing you all the very best,
Scott Pawenski
