    Seeking ATHENA Award nominations

Who do you know among those in our community who exemplify the ATHENA Leadership Model? The Model focuses on the personal traits of strong and successful leaders. It captures the spirit and collaborative leadership style often exemplified in women leaders, while also recognizing the importance of traits such as courageous acts and fierce advocacy in the pursuit of excellence.

Bestowed annually, the ATHENA Award is given to members of the community, regardless of gender, who best embody the Athena Leadership Model. The Women’s Leadership Alliance seeks nominations for individuals, both men and women, who are deserving of this award! Since 2006, we have recognized nearly 150 Hudson Valley community members with this honor.

The Model includes “Eight Principles of Enlightened Leadership”, and the unique way women lead: Live Authentically, Learn Constantly, Build Relationships, Foster Collaboration, Act Courageously, Advocate Fiercely, Give Back, and Celebrate. The ATHENA Awards reception, scheduled for November 29th, will be our way of recognizing the honorees' accomplishments in their careers, community volunteer involvement, and willingness to serve as a mentor – especially to women in the business community.

If you know someone that has made it their mission to uplift and foster leadership among women, both personally and professionally, then consider nominating them for this prestigious award. To nominate yourself or someone you know, visit dcrcoc.org/athena-leadership-awards, and submit by September 15th.

To be named an ATHENA honoree is a significant distinction and fulfills ATHENA International’s mission of supporting, developing, and honoring those who inspire women to achieve their full potential.

Thank you, and remember to always Think Local First!
