    Director of Programming

    The Director of Programming reports to the President of The Chamber Foundation, Inc. and is responsible for the performance and management of all programming of the 501c3 nonprofit affiliate of The Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce.

    The Workforce Development Center and Leadership Development Programming staff of approximately 12 reports to the Director of Programming. Management experience is required.

    The programs within The Workforce Development Center provide income eligible Dutchess County residents (youth and adults) with intensive case management supports, with a focus on academic advancement and long-term unsubsidized employment.

    Minimum Bachelors degree. Preferred – Master's degree in Social Work, LMSW or LCSW degree ,Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field. Preferred five years of experience in workforce development, employment services, or related field, with demonstrated leadership and program management skills. Knowledge of best practices in serving individuals with mental health conditions, criminal backgrounds, and disabilities in employment programs. Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders. Experience in program evaluation, data analysis, and performance measurement, with proficiency in relevant software and tools.

    Programs include Workforce Next Step Program, Dutchess County Youth One Stop and the Career Action Center, Youth Leadership, Leadership Dutchess, Executive Leadership, as well as additional STEAM programming.

    The Director of Programming will manage the work of program staff members to ensure that each program achieves required goals. These goals include recruiting program participants, conducting enrollment sessions, and providing mentoring and ongoing case management to enrolled participants. Candidates must have project and personnel management experience. Work with Leadership Development Committees to provide new and implement existing programming.

    The Director of Programming will ensure that program outcomes are achieved, tracked, and reported as required. Other duties include marketing the programs to employers, responding to funders, and identifying opportunities for program expansion. Experience responding to requests for proposals preferred. An understanding of the Dutchess County Department of Family Services (Social Services) Temporary Assistance and Employment Program Plan strategy, WIOA, and local community service agencies. Case management experience is a plus.

    Management:

    · Assist with donor acknowledgement of monetary and in-kind gift donations

    · Processing all leadership applications and follow up

    · Ensure all participants and sponsors are billed in a timely manner and follow up on invoices when necessary

    Grants/Programming RFP Submission:

    · The position does require some grant research and writing. Leading the process of applying for regular funding opportunities and RFP’s is required. Experience is preferred but not necessary.

    · Develop and execute annual effort to secure in-kind donations as prizes for events

    · Research information for identified grants

    · Responsible for expansion opportunities for new programming

    · Identify new grant opportunities

    · Build awareness of Foundation through chamber events, external events and identification of partnerships

    · Set goals for new programming, for expanding the foundation programming and for charting the course of The Chamber Foundation Inc. in coordination with the President

    · Develop and implement strategies for consistent program outreach and enrollment

    · Meet enrollment goals of Foundation programming

    Personnel Management:

    · Management and oversight of Leadership Development Programs and Workforce Development Center Programming

    Programming Development:

    · Work with the Director of Engagement to identify, expand, and obtain new underwriters

    · Ensure all Foundation programming sponsorships are fulfilled in accordance to the companies’ standardized formula in partnership with the Events, Communications and Operations Departments

    Events:

    · Support The Chamber Foundation in event logistics and planning/day of assistance

    · Provide a presence at Chamber and Foundation events to promote programming

    Board and Volunteer Development:

    · Work with the President on Board and Volunteer Development

    · Report quarterly to The Chamber Foundation Board of Directors on program updates

    Committees:

    · Develop and work with internal and external programming committees as needed to ensure the smooth development of programming

    · Serve on community event boards and communities as assigned

    Other duties as assigned.

    Position is full-time. Some local travel is required to fulfill the job responsibilities. Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills, as well as proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook are required.
