The WLA is pleased to share a unique opportunity offered by the Omega Institute for Holistic Studies. Every Memorial Day week since 2005, Omega Service Week has provided self-led working retreats for nonprofits. Depending on the work they do, nonprofit organizations choose to apply to one of two sessions during Service Week. The Strengthening Communities Summit brings together organizations that enhance community life, prioritizing applicants that address a range of social, economic or environmental issues in the Mid-Hudson Valley (Dutchess, Ulster, Orange, Columbia, Putnam and Greene Counties). The Women Serving Women Summit, sponsored by the Omega Women's Leadership Center (OWLC), focuses on groups that are working in particular to serve the interests and needs of women.
Organizations selected to participate in Service Week receive a 2-day, 2-night retreat at Omega, including free:
- accommodations and meals
- meeting space
- access to Omega campus amenities
- optional 1-hour consultation with the New York Council of Nonprofits (NYCON), representatives of which will be available on campus
Service Week 2015 participants describe their experience in this short video.
