In this Breakfast Briefing, we will discuss the impact of the recent amendments to New York State law concerning sexual harassment. We will cover the following questions on many employers' minds: What does the new law require employers to do and when? How will employers need to change their sexual harassment policies? What changes should employers anticipate in terms of litigation, settlement agreements and employment agreements? How should employers address the new annual training requirements? What are the options and best practices? Draft guidance on the policy and interactive training required has been issued from the New York State Department of Labor and State Division of Human Rights, with the expectation that there will be final regulations in advance of the October 9 effective date of the new training requirements. This program will explore the new requirements and mandates imposed by the State.
