Nonprofit boards are not and should not be static. To be effective, they must change and evolve as their organizations change and grow. The board maturing process is not inevitable and organizations may develop differently or boards may stop at one stage or another and each board/situation is unique.
This workshop will talk about the Board evolution process and ideas for helping you move your board forward to be as effective as your organization needs it to be. We will feature a panel of nonprofits staff/board members that have changed how their boards operate through thoughtful board evolution.
Finally we will introduce a board matching service now managed by Governance Matters, a subsidiary of the New York Council of Nonprofits (NYCON) called boardnetusa.org that can be used to promote your board member needs and potentially match nonprofits with potential board members.
